What you expect. What you won’t get. What you will get.
  • A large serving of self boasting backed up statistics like page views.
  • A deep, engrossing, heart felt description of my journey.
  • Links to free pornography.
  • Meaningful commentary on anime/manga fandom and what it means to me.
  • Intellectual observations on trends and a possible forecast.
  • A shout-out to all the nice people who supported me.
  • A picture of me doing the peace sign.

(Not necessarily in that order.)

Hello there.

So, yeah, umm, this blog is now more than two years old. It is not a terribly long time, but I guess it is something.

Toxic Muffin’s Glorious history

Way back, when Shakugan no Shana’s second season was airing, a friend of my brother’s showed me THAT Animeblog. I began to follow them though at the time I only followed them for their season previews and in general to get an idea of what anime were airing. I don’t even remember their writing staff (though I am sure Crusader was one of them and EO joined shortly after). I do not exactly what sparked it, but in the Summer of 2009 (July 17th to be exact), I opened up a blogger blog with the serious intention of occasionally blogging stuff.

Unfortunately, since I was stupid at the time (I am still stupid, just less so), I could not find the “Page Views” page and therefore formed the assumption that since no one was commenting, no one was reading. Feeling disheartened  and ronery (intentional spelling error), I stopped. Actually, looking at the dates of the post, I am now more inclined to think that I was just lazy. That blog had at most 5 proper posts, summing up to a total of 8 posts.

Then in May of 2010, THAT opened up recruiting and began to look for new bloggers to advance their cause. Being the upshot that I was, I figured that I would apply, blog about stuff and become internet famous. With my mind all set, I began to procrastinate. I procrastinated some more and then even more. Then the deadline flew right by me. I shrugged; I had seen that coming.

Shortly afterwards, I came to the conclusion that there was of course nothing wrong with me. No, the problem was with Blogger. Yes, that was it! Blogger was holding me down! Okay, it was time to try the platform that all the cool kids used. So, in what is now known as my final summer vacation, I opened up Toxic Muffin. The rest is history. (If you are curious, this was my first post on this blog.)

Anyway, that is enough history. Time for some gloating.

Binbougami ga!

Here is a list of this blogs awesome achievements:

  • Survived a grizzly attack by grizzly bears.
  • Fended of an army of die-hard otaku’s who wanted more loli pictures.
  • Has lived for 2 years.
  • Is run by the world’s greatest baker, whose baked goods are to die for.

At least one of the above is true, but at most two are true. I will let you guess the rest.

Generic Thank You

I thank everyone who is reading this post. I thank <if applicable, insert your name here> for reading my previous posts. I thank <if applicable, insert your name here> for commenting on my posts. I thank <if applicable, insert your name here> for talking to me on Twitter. I thank <if applicable, insert your name here> for existing. I thank <if my mom or dad, insert your name here> for all the support given to me.

(I do want to send a special thank you over to Lord Commander Crusader and Master Executive Otaku for inspiring me to start blogging. I also want to mention Valence who was the first to comment on this blog.)

In all honesty, I do want to thank everyone for putting up with me for so long. Being a part of the Ani-blogger community (I think I am part of it….) for the past couple of years has been a blast and I hope it will continue to be a blast.

Well, that`s all folks! I hope you continue to visit me, or start if you don’t already.

Oh and as commemoration of this glorious day, here is a picture of some muffins that I made today:

Sorry, you can’t have any.

Oh right, here is some picture spam.

Hnnnnggg, USUI-SAMAAAA!

Yayoi is the best!

EmperorJ and myself animated.

A few manga images…

Well, that is all folks. Thanks for reading and thanks for everything else to.😛

No picture of you doing a peace sign? Worst anniversary ever.

    • #2 by Reiseng on July 29, 2012 - 12:32 am

      I know, eh! Such a letdown.😛
The camera doesn’t like me much, I am afraid. Also, I would probably have to get a manicure first. Can’t be ruining a peace sign with imperfect nails…

I could say something you would expect, like “Congrats on making it two whole years!” But instead:

    MUFFINS!

    • #4 by Reiseng on July 29, 2012 - 12:34 am

      Thanks!

Those muffins ended up horrible though.😦 I overcooked them, added too little sugar, left the batter out too long and forgot to add oil (so, they got stuck to the paper trays and became almost impossible to eat). Oh well, these things happen!

      Thanks for the comment.🙂

Two years’ worth of posts made a shining noise as they flowed endlessly from Reiseng’s mind.

    • #6 by Reiseng on July 29, 2012 - 12:35 am

My two years worth of posts are like 4 months worth of posts for you guys…I have published so few.

But thanks, I’d like to imagine that as my posts go up, they make a shiny noise and a bell somewhere goes “gong, gong” in joy and celebration.

    Congratulations!

Pic Spamming has destroyed my brainz >_>

    • #10 by Reiseng on July 30, 2012 - 6:34 pm

Sorry about that! Hopefully, your brain will regrow or something.😛

  6. #11 by John Sato on July 31, 2012 - 6:39 pm

Hey, look at that, I’m mentioned by name! You’re totally welcome, Reiseng!😛

    Anyway, congratulations on your milestone!

    • #12 by Reiseng on August 2, 2012 - 1:21 am

      Thanks John!

If it is any consolation, I did think about mentioning explicitly mentioning you since you are a great friend, but then I didn’t for some reason.😛

  7. #13 by Mushyrulez on September 4, 2012 - 8:27 pm

    I don’t get the images.

Sorry for not commenting earlier, but congratulat-IN MY DEFENSE, I EXPECT ALL YOUR POSTS TO BE MANGA POSTS AND I HAVEN’T READ ANY MANGA SO I CAN’T READ THEM YET

    • #14 by Reiseng on September 8, 2012 - 1:02 am

The images are just picture spam! I THOUGHT THEY WERE FUNNY OR SOMETHING. I really need to do more manga posts (proper ones, not those boring Shonen things).

      • #15 by Mushyrulez on September 8, 2012 - 2:15 am

I mean the reason I haven’t been a toxic muffin is because I thought everything you’d post would be manga but NOPE, YOU BETRAYED ME

    • #16 by Reiseng on September 11, 2012 - 7:04 pm

I am sorry I betrayed you! But I will continue to betray you because I am a betrayor[not a word] and this is an ANIMANGA BLOG.😛
