Right off the bat I’ll note that Fox Spirit Matchmaker (originally Huyao Xiao Hongniang or Enmusubi no Youko-chan on Japanese TV) isn’t necessarily an anime I’d recommend to others. It is not the content matter is questionable or anything, but that it is not exactly a high quality anime or so to speak.
In the world of Fox Spirit Matchmaker, youkai exist and sometimes these youkai fall in love with and are loved by humans. Unfortunately humans die much earlier than youkai. And upon their death, humans are reincarnated.
To keep the youkai happy, the matchmakers have the ability to restore the memories of reincarnated humans. That is to say, a human will remember their past love and they can continue their married to a youkai life. The story is very much about keeping destined lovers together forever. (Note: Both parties agree to this deal in the human’s past life.)
For some reason, Yahari Bento!! was very kind in nominating me for one of these blog award things. I don’t really read any anime blogs anymore (my fault not the community’s, I swear), but Yahari’s Christmas post is festive!
I’m not too familiar with the anime blogging community anymore, so I am going to refrain from nominating more folk, but I’ll address the 3 questions put forth and figured that since two of them were about movie watching, I’d talk a bit about that too.
This blog has been starving for content, so let’s make do with a nice easy post! I haven’t seen too much this season (spending all my anime time rewatching Detective Conan!), but figured I’d jot down a few thoughts anyway.
I’ve been procrastinating on blog posts and while trying to put coherent thoughts and posts together, I figured I’d just write a few sentences on everyone’s favourite 2016 maid: Rem from ReZero.
I want to quickly clarify that I’ve only seen up to episode 09 or so of ReZero so everything that happens after I’ve only gleamed from twitter conversations. So, I never got to exerpeince Rem /at her best/, but figured I’d talk anyway. Spoilers up to and including episode 08.
There is some mysterious pink hair character in the above two images, but I’m lacking in screencaps of Rem by herself.
I haven’t watched most of the Summer anime and don’t really know when I’ll get around to, but I figured I’d write down a few thoughts on the few that I have seen.
I love Sakamoto Desu ga. I find it to be genuinely funny. It is not for everyone, but the exaggerated “Sakamoto can do anything and look good while doing it” skits are totally my thing and never fail to make me smile, if not outright laugh.
The 7 or so minute long skit at the beginning of episode 7 was not only funny, but also rather endearing and heart warming.
Sorry, this is late.
