I guess I am a bit like my blood type…

This post is actually a waste of your time. I have no idea why I made it.

Ketsuekigata-kun! is a 2 minute short about anthropomorphized blood types.

For those of you less familiar with anime and Asian culture, blood types often have personalities associated with them.

Horoscopes and fortunes based on blood types as well as personality analysis based on them are widespread and apparently quite common in Japan and other parts of Asia.  This trend has probably got some deep cultural roots that are way out of the scope of this 5 minute post (but may make for an excellent Toxic Report someday).

Unfortunately, or fortunately, the notion that your blood type can help define your personality is an incredibly flawed notion that is just as flawed as its Western counterpart, Astrology.

Heck, the show itself alludes to this and warns you to not take things seriously.

But if distraught parents, failing grades, a lack of common sense and a lack of stable relationships can’t stop us from mixing up reality with fiction, then I am sure the above warning won’t hinder us one bit.

With that said and done, this is what Ketsuekigata-kun! has to say about blood type based personalities (according to the ending):

So, can you guess my blood type based on the above?

Well, I am indecisive like A, thick headed like B, quick to anger like O and conceited like AB….

So, in terms of NEGATIVE traits, I am like all of them, which is funny because I am Rh POSITIVE not Rh negative ( GET IT HAHAHA) .

I hesitate to assign myself any of the good qualities mentioned above, but I’d like to have them all.

So, basically I am a bit like my blood type, but only because I am a bit like all blood types. (This is why trying to neatly categorize personalities based on ANYTHING is normally  an exercise in futility and silliness.) 🙂
