Weekly Shonen: Bleach 588, Naruto 684

Hello, sorry I am a bit late with this. No One Piece this week.

Bleach

Since his introduction, I have complained about moustache-kun and his failure as a compelling villain. I mean what kind of pompous-ass gets upset when his minions feel a “tinge of emotion” at the sight of a majestic palace.

What a jerk.

It is a tried and true trope, but I actually prefer villains who go “so beautiful, it’s a shame we have to destroy it”. Stupid moustache-kun has no artistic sense and is dumb.

I do wonder what this manga is thinking by revealing Giselle’s supposed sex. It is quite apparent that Giselle controlled Bambietta just like she controlled the Shinigami. I am not sure why Yumichika mentioned semen per say ,as in why does Giselle smell like semen, is it just cause Yumichika has that sensitive of a nose or…. I have a hypothesis and I guess it is not a particularly pleasant one. (Maybe Giselle can use any body fluid and not just blood to control people…)

I do hope the Squad Zero folk put up somewhat of a good fight. It will be lame if they get taken out quickly by Moustache-kun. Heck, I am more than willing to have them defeat him and have Ichigo defeat white-haired sidekick.

Naruto

Believe it or not, I actually liked this chapter. I liked the tactics employed and it was nice to see the characters use their heads. I also liked the attacks Naruto employed with his clones.

The ending with Naruto’s clone deception was in particular well done. I am also glad that they went through with that and didn’t just end the chapter with Naruto getting stabbed. That would have been a lame cliffhanger.

Obito’s “I will die for redemption” is silly and not particularly emotion invoking. It is a bit too late to get me to care for Obito. I am glad he is a good guy, but that’s mostly because he was a terrible villain.

Let’s see if Sakura ends up being useful somehow.

That’s all I have got this time around.

Oh and I guess I also sorta liked the tinge of regret Kagura had when Black Zetsu told her to kill Naruto. I guess she has no troubles “absorbing” her children but killing them is not ideal.
